Day 1 of the 5th annual Super High Roller Bowl put 36 of the biggest names in poker on full display at the PokerGO studio. Below is a collection of my favorite images from Day 1, including this incredible fold from Daniel Negreanu (lead image), in a hand against Mikita Badziakouski. Rick Salomon was not only the last person to register SHRB, but he was also the only person that elected to take all three of his 100,000 add-ons at the start of play. The decision panned out well as Salomon continued to climb throughout the day, eventually putting **806,000** in the bag, good for the biggest stack of the day.

Alex Foxen is one of the rising stars in poker today, and would put his abilities to the test today against the best in the world, with his Super High Roller Bowl debut. Foxen would survive the day, finishing below the average with 127,000 in chips but with add-ons still left to put in play.

While we saw plenty of big folds and coolers today, we also had our share of bad beats. None may be worse than the beat Sam Soverel put on Cary Katz late here on Day 1. Katz had to fade two outs to secure the late double but was inevitably run down by Soverel, forcing him to use his last add-on with just a level remaining in the night.
